This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to administer and manage information and communications technology (ICT) support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of general ICT technologies.
People working at this level provide a broader rather than specialised ICT support function, applying a wide range of higher level technical skills in ICT areas such as networking, IT support, database development, programming and web development.
You'll learn the essentials for network management including how to design, build, and test a network server, manage network security, determine best-fit topology for a local network and identify and resolve network problems. As well as
setting up and managing network systems and applications including how to debug and monitor applications, review and update disaster recovery and contingency plans, update ICT system operational procedures, review and develop ICT maintenance strategy and install and upgrade operating systems.
You will learn how to produce basic client-side script for dynamic web pages, develop complex web page layouts and manage interactive media production. Also, how to gather data to identify business requirements, match ICT needs while managing projects, research, and review hardware technology options for organisations. Additionally, you'll understand key business requirements in for the ICT industry, including how to originate and develop concepts, develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability and ensure a safe workplace.

Domestic Students
There are no mandatory requirements to enter into this course. However, having completed Year 12, hold a Certificate IV or have work experience in the field is recommended as minimum requirements to study at the diploma level.
Vibe College uses the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) to identify the learners language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) levels upon enrolment.
International Students
There are no prerequisites for international students to enter into this course but they must meet academic and english entry requirements.
Students must provide academic evidence of satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
Where English is not the official language in the country of where students are currently residing, evidence of a valid IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5.0) or any equivalent must be provided. Students will also complete an online English level placement test prior to enrolment.
